Communications and Projects Assistant
As UNITEE’s Communication and Project Assistant, you will be part of a small and dynamic team working in the heart of Brussels to promote inclusive entrepreneurship and sustainable business practices in Europe. With the support of the team, you will maintain UNITEE’s websites, social media channels and newsletters, work with us on the management and communication of ongoing projects and support us with the development of future projects. Moreover, you will help strengthen UNITEE’s outreach and advocacy by organising small-scale events and will assist the management team with outreach, networking and fundraising-related tasks.

One Year Initial Contract

2.100 Euros/month
Communications and social media (50%)
- Develop and disseminate advocacy content for our various communication channels and formats, including website articles, interviews, newsletters, policy papers, podcasts, infographics, event programs and social media pages (LinkedIn; X; YouTube; Websites).
- Oversee the UNITEE and New European online platforms and support the maintenance of project website(s).
- Foster and maintain collaborative communications relationships with existing and potential partners.
- Monitor news and policy developments, in particular, business and entrepreneurship, inclusion and participation, and the green and digital transition.
- Monitor and track communications analytics to ensure consistent and effective messaging.
- Assist in developing and reviewing the implementation of the communications strategy.
Project Assistance (30%)
- Support our ongoing projects by assisting with meeting preparations, organisation of events and development of communication material.
- Oversee the UNITEE and New European online platforms and support the maintenance of project website(s).
Other (20%)
- Organise small-scale events (e.g. online or in-person roundtables or workshops).
- Undertake occasional research on a given topic e.g. for new policy papers, project applications, or advocacy plans.
Qualifications
- Recently graduated from a master's degree in Political Sciences, EU Studies, Journalism, Communication or Marketing.
- Interest in European Affairs, especially business, sustainability and inclusion.
- Previous work experience or internship, for instance in journalism, social media marketing or project assistance.
IT skills
- Experiences with Microsoft Office programmes.
- Experience with WordPress (or similar website tools).
- Experience with social media platforms and editing tools (e.g. Canva).
- List ItemAbility to work with Adobe editing tools such as Indesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Audition, etc. are an asset but not required.
- Ability to work with audio production software (e.g. Audacity, RØDE Connect).
Interpersonal skills
- You can take the lead on a task and find creative solutions to challenges.
- You can work both independently and in a team and are considerate of different cultural backgrounds.
- You can develop and articulate your own ideas.
- You can navigate stressful situations and can manage your time, work and deadlines etc.
Communication skills
- Excellent proficiency in English (fluent or native speaker).
- Clear, concise writing and proofreading techniques (English).
- Additional languages, especially French, are an asset but not a requirement.
What We Offcer
- A 1-year contract with the possibility to extend to a full-time, open-ended Belgian employment contract.
- A competitive salary package in line with the level of experience and responsibilities (€2.100 gross) along with transport compensation, meal vouchers and 13th month salary.
